8U 2024 will be a local Coach-Pitch league with Centennial and surrounding communities. 

This is a great way to introduce the girls to the game of fastpitch using the same rules as 10U fastpitch – striking out, 3 outs an inning, etc. However, there is no stealing, no leading off, and no walks. Like 10/12U Fastpitch, there will be travel involved to play other local associations.  Coaches focus on the fundamentals of softball:  throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Just as important, MVSA 8U players learn what good sportsmanship means and how fun teamwork can be!

There are no tryouts for 8U. Girls 6, 7 or 8 years old on December 31st of the previous year are eligible to play at the 8U level.

8U Fastpitch Commitment:

• 1 practice/week - at Rice Creek Fields (possibly more)
• 2 games/week - Tuesdays and Thursday evenings at Lexington Fields
• Centennial Tournament: Father's Day weekend
• State Tournament: TBD
• Games start in early May
• Season will wrap up at the end of June

What to bring:

• Each player should wear a tshirt, leggings or softball pants to games and practices
• Water Bottle
• Glove, Bat, helmet and a fielding mask
